HOW IT WORKS
Mattel changed the TrackMaster connector between the two generations. This adapter carries one shape at each end, so old and new pieces run together and trains roll across the join.

Perfect! We have a set of old Trackmaster that my toddler likes because it's easy for him to connect, but there's really not enough track to work with. This means I'm able to set up new Trackmaster alongside him and combine it all in the end. It's sturdy and well-made. And it was nice getting a bonus dogbone adapter too! We had other dogbone adapters that were too big and didn't fit all our wooden tracks, now we exclusively use these ones.
